Transform Your Skin From the Inside Out
Skin aging is a natural process, but daily sun exposure can contribute to premature aging, slowing down the turnover of skin cells between healthy new cells and old damaged cells.
The Nu-Derm System penetrates the skin’s surface to transform the skin’s appearance and help correct the damage within…revealing healthy, younger-looking skin.
Nu-Derm is ideal if you have:
How quickly will I see results when using the Nu-Derm System?
Your individual prescribed protocol and frequency of use should be determined by your skin care physician, but you can typically expect to start seeing visible improvements in 4 to 6 weeks.
Why is the Nu-Derm System sold exclusively by physicians?
The Nu-Derm System contains prescription-strength formulations that can be sold only through a licensed physician, such as a dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
What is the difference between the Nu-Derm System and products purchased from department stores, drug stores, infomercials, etc?
The products in the Nu-Derm System contain clinically proven, prescription-strength ingredients that work at the cellular level to improve your skin cell function. Products purchased from a retail store are cosmetic-based products that do not contain prescription-strength ingredients.
How often should I visit my dermatologist, plastic surgeon, or skin care physician when using the Nu-Derm System?
Your dermatologist or plastic surgeon will talk with you about how often you should check in once you’ve started using the Nu-Derm System.
Can the Nu-Derm System be used during pregnancy?
Please consult your physician and refer to the Important Safety Information.
Can the Nu-Derm System be used if I will be in the sun (ie, at sporting events or at the beach)?
Keeping in mind that extended sun exposure damages the skin, it is suggested that you avoid prolonged sun exposure. While on the system, you can participate in normal outdoor activity. However, your skin may be sensitive to the sun and heat. This is particularly the case if you are using the Normal to Oily system, as Exfoderm® Forte contains an alpha hydroxy and that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. It is very important to always wear a sunscreen, like Sun Shield Matte Broad Spectrum SPF 50 in the Nu-Derm System, reapply sun protection every few hours while exposed to the sun, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure.
Why should I use all the products in the Nu-Derm System?
All the products in the Nu-Derm System are specifically designed to work together to provide you with the best results. When used as a system, the prescription-strength ingredients work to effectively balance the pH level of your skin and penetrate into the layers of your skin for optimal results. Your skin care physician will guide you in using the system based on his or her assessment of your needs.
Where is BOTOX® Used?
BOTOX is used to temporarily reduce the activity of the muscles that cause the wrinkles around your eyes and forehead such as your crow’s feet (the corners of your eyes), your vertical frown lines between your eyebrows, and your forehead wrinkles… basically, the upper one-third of your face. Juvederm, on the other hand is used for the wrinkles around your nose and mouth.Fine wrinkles that are not caused by facial expression can be improved with chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser treatments.
How did I get all these wrinkles?
You can thank all of the years of squinting and frowning for the wrinkles between your eyebrows and on the bridge of your nose, across your forehead, and at the corners of your eyes! These “dynamic” wrinkles can make an otherwise happy person look angry or sad. Dermasurgeons, like Dr. White and Dr. Woodall can improve these lines without surgery and without scars by a simple injection of BOTOX Cosmetic.
What exactly is BOTOX Cosmetic?
BOTOX is a purified protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. In small doses, it is used very effectively for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes. BOTOX Cosmetic has been used safely and successfully in ophthalmology and neurology since the 1980’s, and for wrinkle therapy since 1991.
How does BOTOX® work?
Dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead wrinkles, are due to repetitive facial expression. BOTOX Cosmetic works by temporarily reducing the actions of the muscles that cause the persistent frown lines that have developed between your brows over time. With BOTOX Cosmetic, these muscles can be weakened without detracting from your facial expressiveness.
What is the BOTOX procedure like?
It’s a simple, 10-minute treatment for moderate to severe frown lines between the brows that consist of a few tiny injections.
Is the Botox procedure painful?
Anesthesia is not required and most patients experience only minimal and brief discomfort. Dr. White or Dr. Woodall may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting.
What are common side effects of Botox?
Side effects are minimal and typically relate to the local injection. Soreness or mild bruising, while uncommon, may occur around the injection site. Makeup may be worn after treatment, but care should be taken to avoid pressing or massaging the area for several hours. In rare instances, patients may develop temporary weakness of the neighboring muscles, a temporary droopy brow or eyelid, or a headache. (www.ASDS.net)
When will I start to see results from Botox?
You should start to see a visible improvement in the treated areas within a week. The area may continue to improve for up to a week.
How long will the results last?
When administered properly, the effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment can last up to 4 months. If you do not continue treatments, your wrinkles will gradually look like they did before treatment.
How will BOTOX affect my facial expressions?
After treatment with BOTOX Cosmetic, you may look in the mirror and see a marked improvement in the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows and around your eyes. But BOTOX Cosmetic will not radically change your facial appearance. You can still frown or look surprised—without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.
What about men?
BOTOX Cosmetic is certainly not just for women. A man who has pronounced lines between his brows may be perceived as angry or stressed—and he does not want to look that way. A BOTOX Cosmetic treatment requires little time out of the office. So, it is possible to have the procedure done during a lunch hour and head right back to the office.
